Eastern Sierras 2020
In late August, I spent the better part of 2 weeks living out of my truck and climbing in the Eastern Sierras. I went without a plan or partners. The trip turned out well - I learned a lot about how I need to communicate with climbing partners, what I need from them, and how cool this part of the country is. It stole my heart and I can’t wait to return for more. So much solid alpine granite to be climbed here!!
Pine Creek First Look
Day 1 -3 in the Sierras I met an awesome chick named Shannon. We climbed in Pine Creek and 3rd pillar of Dana together. It was awesome to meet such a psyched and motivated partner and I ended up connecting with her again on my trip. We also reconnected for a creek trip this fall and I hope we continue our climbing friendship.
It's speed climbing if you wear a running vest.

Was planning to solo the 5.easy route, but bailed because of weather. Still a very nice day out.
Wow wow wow the lakes here! Had to take an alpine shower.
Just Magic.
Mendenhall Colouir
Took me 2 tries to do this one. First time there was a husky like creature guarding the start of the route, so I bailed. Sometimes these things are signs that today is not the day. 3000ft of scrambling, fun (but a helmet was mandatory).

Made it!
Taking a did post-colouir climb
Merriam Peak, Direct North Buttress
Did this with another random person from Mountain Project which is always a bit of a risk. However, Liam was an awesome partner and we knocked the whole thing out (9 mile approach, 18 miles total) in 12H c2c. Smooth climbing and so much fun! Maybe my favorite climb of the whole trip (they were all so good).

Ready for another fun day
On the Lamb
This was a tough day but it was still awesome to get to climb in Toulumne. I was climbing with a partner I had climbed with before in CO, but the dynamics were off. We planned to climb together for several days after this, but we cut our time together short. Sometimes that’s the best thing to do and that’s ok.

OZ views. The bolts on p2 scared me, but p3 was worth it. Awesome climbing.
The scary bolts. Thankful to be only 120lbs when I see these.

Incredible Hulk Day
I don’t like to have specific objectives but this was one I really wanted to climb this trip. It finally happened (with another solid Mountain Project rando) on my last climb of the trip. So good, can’t wait to go back for positive vibrations!
